Truma Aquago Water Heater
External/Outside Power Controls
The outside switch must be in the ON position for the inside switch to function.
The outside switch can be powered ON in the Up or Down position. Center position is OFF.
In the event that the internal switch stops functioning the outside switch will default to the Up position as Eco Mode & the Down position as Comfort Mode. If the inside switch is operational then it will override the position of the outside switch ON position.
Internal/Inside Controls
For the inside switch to function the outside switch must first be powered ON.
ECO MODE: Energy saving mode. Water temperature at faucet will be approximately 120 degrees with standby temperature inside the tank bladder being maintained at 42 degrees for freeze prevention.
COMFORT MODE: Rapid mode.
Water temperature at faucet will be approximately 120 degrees with standby temperature inside the tank bladder being maintained at 102 degrees for a faster delivery of hot water.
OFF: Standby Mode. The water heater is not running in any operating mode.
Antifreeze mode. Prevents the tank bladder from freezing by using 12vdc power. *This is an optional accessory that must be installed in the water heater for this feature to work. It also requires using a plug for the water heater exhaust to prevent cold air from backfilling the system. The plug is located on the inside of the Truma Water Heater Door and held in place by a metal clip. The plug should be inserted into the exhaust pipe and then a small part of the yellow tab should protrude out the front door vent for an easy identification that it is in Antifreeze Mode.
DO NOT LEAVE THE PLUG IN THE EXHAUST WHEN ATTEMPTING TO USE THE WATER HEATER IN ANY OTHER MODE!
CLEAN MODE: Only used when performing decalcification process for the Truma water heater.
TIPS: We recommend using the Truma in Eco mode on most occasions. During the summer months this means that the Truma will typically only use LP when you turn on the hot water faucet as the tank should be above 42 degrees in warm & hot weather. During the colder months this will continue to use less LP by only heating the tank if temperatures in the tank drop to 41 degrees and it will still deliver the same 120 degree hot water at the faucet when requested. By using Eco mode you might use a small amount of water as it will take the system about 10-15 seconds longer to go from 42 degrees to 120 as compared to Comfort modes 102 degrees to 120.
