BATTERY HEATING PAD INFO
The heating pad is powered by the on board battery bank in the camper. It is controlled by the lighted switch and an ambient temperature sensor which measures the internal temperature of the battery box, not the batteries. When the switch is turned on and the internal ambient temperature falls to 35 degrees the heating pad will come on and heat up to 135 degrees until the ambient temperature reaches 45 degrees and then the pad will shut off. Once the switch is turned on the light should come on to let you know the system is on. The power passes through the switch and into the temperature sensor that then controls when the heating pad turns on and off.
*THE HEATING PAD IS CONTROLLED BY THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR. THE SWITCH LIGHT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT THE PAD IS HEATING
*THE HEATING PAD SHOULD BE TURNED ON ONLY WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 32 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. LEAVING THE HEATING PAD ON IN WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL CAUSE THE HEATER PAD TO DRAW POWER FROM THE BATTERIES UNNECCESSARILY.
HEATING PAD PURPOSE
Lithium batteries cannot charge when the temperature in the battery is at or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The heating pad is used to increase the battery temperature in order for the battery to charge.
This is only necessary when a battery charge is available such as Shore Power, Generator and/or Solar.
