Girard Awning Maintenance & Use
Awnings keep us dry & cool
If you’ve ever sat out during a light rain, you know how enjoyable it is. Assuming, of course, there aren’t strong wind gusts and torrential rains, it can be extremely relaxing to sit out during the light rain listen to the sounds of nature. Plus, who wants to be cooped up inside the RV the whole camping trip? Keep in mind you might have to adjust the pitch of your awning and have that rain slope right off.
If too much water collects on top of the fabric it may stretch the fabric causing it to wrinkle when retracting. Water damage to the fabric is not covered under the Girard warranty
The Girard awnings are equipped with wind sensors to try and protect themselves from wind damage however once they are triggered it takes approximately 60 seconds before it completely retracts.
Wind damage is not covered by the Girard warranty.
